Fuglefotdelta is a long-term artistic project and collaboration between five artists working across sound, visual and site-sensitive art, investigating Nordre Øyeren naturreservat, and taking place in 2026-2027.
Nordre Øyeren, located in Lillestrøm, Rælingen and Enebakk municipalities in Akershus county, is the largest inland delta of the Nordics — including the river mouths of the rivers Glomma, Leira and Nitelva. Nordre Øyeren is protected nationally and internationally for its ecological complexity and the importance for migratory birds.
Fuglefotdelta is developed through recurring collective fieldwork at Nordre Øyeren fuglestasjons’ cabin at Årnestangen. The artist group return to the same site over the course of different seasons and years, and use the cabin both as a base and a working methodology in itself.
Fuglefotdelta results in the production of new works, two participatory symposiums at Årnestangen in 2026 and 2027, and final exhibition in Besøksenteret in 2027. A key outcome is the integration of the finished works into Besøksenterets dissemination and education programme, contributing artistic tools and methods that can continue to activate the site beyond the project period.
